Paul Corfield - Lavender Sunset
For Lavender Sunset and Clouds Over The Sea the inspiration was really to end the year on a high and have something to take forward into 2015. These were among the last paintings that I created in November 2014 and I wanted to take many ideas, some old, some new, and bring them all together into what we have here. For Lavender Sunset the inspiration is fields of deep purple lavender and I have echoed the colours within the sky. On the colour wheel these purples are the complement of green and this gives the whole painting a natural harmony.
